DAST exercises the application from outside, while it is running. Authenticated scanning, session issues, and runtime injection complete the layer SAST cannot see. Frequent releases, an app behind a WAF, or a pre-production environment make this scan routine. DAST does not automatically extract every business-logic and authorization error; it should be read with web pentest. Without credentials, CSRF tokens, and a scan account, depth stays low.
TARGON does not leave DAST as an overnight crawler report. Scan accounts, in-scope URLs, and production deny-paths are locked with web-testing practice; critical findings are validated. If API and DAST overlap, line items are split so they are not counted twice. TARGON does not claim to be the official DAST distributor; risk in the running app is joined to corporate pentest delivery. Taking DAST from TARGON turns automated scanning into filtered, prioritized, closable output.
